Girls Night!

Girl's Night!!

I love Girls' Night, it is so much fun. I'm not really sure how it got started, but it has gotten started and I love it and I think Kim, Emma and Karrie love it to. So, Monday night we all headed over to Kim's apartment and she made us a chicken dish (which was to die for) Thanks Kim! :) But what is a good dinner party without taking some killer pictures of everyone.

Please excuse my attire, I usually dress up for these events, but Monday was a rough day as you can see...although I will be glad to announce that I showered that day :-) Here are some pic's from that night, and one from my birthday dinner.

~ This would be me on the ground after falling into the pool, while holding onto the railing...and you wonder why my parents gave me the middle name of "grace!" ~

~This is me before I fell into the water.....you think I would be able to hold on, but that little railing is slippery~

~ This is what happened, when I fell into the water. My poor UGG's got wet~

~ I got stuck in this tree.....yes, I know that it was like 9 feet from the ground, but it was fun sitting in the tree~

Well, these are the moments that I get to laugh and enjoy having fun with people in my life that are amazing. The Lord really has answered my prayers in bringing people into my life that will shape me and help me through this journy. I pray that these people stay in my life when we all leave and depart into the real world. Kim and Karrie will graduate from graduate school in May and head away from Mobile, where Emma and I have another two years. But I know that where ever the Lord takes Kim and Karrie, I will for sure be taking a road trip to go and see them and take more pictures that will last a lifetime.

The Need to Write

I for some reason have the urge to pour my heart out to you this morning. Don't ask me why, I just do!

I have been thinking a lot about life and the road that I have walked. A hard one at times and one where I have to truely give everything to the Lord, but a road that has shaped me into being the woman that I am today. Not that bad! I think since I turned 20, I have been really thinking about the future, and everything the goes alot with your 20's. I mean most people I know, get married in thier 20's, have children, buy a house, buy a car, ect. That's a scary thought, but some what exciting to think that I may within the next 10 years fall in love, marry a man that loves the Lord, have children and actually become an adult. That's overwhelming to think about. But there is a story that I have to tell because it seems to always get me when I see this person at school.

I don't know this person that I am wirtting about, but I will tell you, I don't know him nad he dosent know me, but he has impacted my life and makes me love the Lord more everytime I see him. A young black man is a student at South and I have seen him twice now. But what gets me is that he is blind and when I see him he is always alone. Today, we were waiting for the bus to take us back to the apartment and of course since he can't see he couldnt tell what bus was passing. He then asked someone to help him get on the 'purple' bus. But what got me, was this young man has never seen. He walks with a stick to trust what is in front of him and he is humbled enough to ask someone to help him. But what amazes me everytime I see him, is that he has the biggest smile :) when he asks for help, not one person has ever declined, and the look on his face is priceless. What I am getting at is that the Lord is good, he is perfect in all area's of this life of mine and he has given me an illness that I don't want to battle at times, but he has given me sight to see the beauty of this life. This young man dosent get to see, he dosent get to see the beautifulness that is set before him, but I pray that his imagination is amazing that when someone speaks to him he imagins someone and what they look like. He is a student at a university and is living his life. If only this young man new how impactful he has been to me. And regardless of everything, he makes me tear up every single time I see him. I don't know if it is because I feel sorry for him or if it is because he inspires me to be a better person. I thank that young man and I hope one day I can help him get on a bus or help him find his way.

I think where I am getting with this story is that special need's people have always had a place in my heart. There's something about a human being that is just as I am, but has been created with beautiful aspects that not everyone has. They are suppose to be loved just as I am, who am I not to love them. So I have already decided that, sicne the chance of me having children of my own is slim, I want to adopt. I have always wanted this and I pray that the Lord will grant that prayer for me and my husband when that time comes. But what I really pray that the Lord will bless me with a child, that has special needs. I would love to be a mother to a child that was not loved at birth, I want to be the mother that raises that child to be a productive member of society and love the Lord with all her/his heart. It amazes me at how the Lord works in your heart and transforms it to be what he has planned it to be. Even at 20 I have researched adoption and yes it cost's alot of money, but those funds will arrive when the time comes.

Well I thought that I would pour out my heart to everyone. I think my hormons have gotten the best of me today, but hey that's the beauty of being a woman....a wonderful excuss to cry at the drop of a hat or be a little moody every once in a while!

New Things in a Crazy Life!

I have seen that our bodies that we live in is one crazy machine, and it really has a mind of it's own.

Mom and Dad (Kim and Joe) have really been wanting me to get a job this year. They want me to have the much used much loved word "balance" in my life! Of course, it's easy for me to object since I have not had to work while going to school, thanks to my parents and grandparents for a college fund. Believe me, they have pounded this into my head, that money runs out ( and in a sense the way that I am living my life, it's going fast ). I guess living in "club-med" dosent classify as a "need" in life. What can I say, living is expensive and I live in Mobile.....you will pay $$ to live in a somewhat safe area. Cause' you never know what around the corner is going to be like.

So, I took Mom and Dad's nagging words to heart and found myself a job. It was really by the grace of God that I did because I had applied at like 4 places and no one was hiring, even for the holidays. You know the economy is bad when TARGET isn't hiring for Chritsmas. So, I got a job woring for "Forever 21" in the mall. It's a brand new store (has not yet been opened, that's going to be my job). I dont invision this being a job that last's for long. I only expect it to last until January 12, 2009, when Spring classes start. But for the entire month I have off for Christmas break it is going to do just fine. '

But, for anyone who has had to go and look for a job, and then have a job interview, you know at how stressful that can be. Well, I never thought that I was stressed until I looked in the mirror and saw what stress and MOlly really combine to look like. It's not pretty. The dreded zit, and it's not just one, it's like five in a region. Oh what a joy!!! I was lucky enough to not have bad skin, but let me tell you when stress and 'that time of the month' comes, my skin has a mind of its own.

20 years and counting!

20 years!!!!

Time flys by......I can't believe that I am 20! It kind of feels surreal to me, it just seems that yesterday I was turning 16 and that was the coolest thing of all time. That was an astonishing 4 years ago, hard to believe. Alot has happened in that 4 years, some good and some bad, but it has all shaped me to be the woman I am today at 20!

This is an exciting time in my life, this is the time of my life. I am praying that my 20's are better than my teens where. I'm hoping that in my 20's I can grow and see the world, through a new set of eyes. Go and experience new things and not be held back by anything.

So, I'm taking a step forward into the next 10 years. They will fly by, but I'm going to enjoy every year of my 20's!!!

Change is a Good Thing!

WOW!

What a week it has been so far. Can I just begin with "thank God" this election is over. I went over to Fairhope yesterday after class and voted, and let me tell you it was one of the most humbling and honoring things that I have ever done. To think that I made a difference in our country is one of the coolest things. The entire time I was driving from Mobile back home I kept thinking that, our country is one of very few that get to vote freely. I will not be killed or tortured because of what I am doing. I got to walk into a poll freely without persecution and vote for someone that I think would be a good leader.
So that was an experience and I won't forget. And especially since a radical change occurred last night. A man that came from a totally different back ground and has different world views will be running our country. That's not a bad thing. I thought that it would be. I really thought that if Obama got elected it was going to be the end of the world. But then I came to the conclusion that no matter who gets elected, that person was meant to be president, that person will have the power to run our country and as a country and Americans we have to stand behind him 100% and help him run this country.
To say the least I feel that I am beyond blessed to be an American and to have the rights that I have. I get to go to school freely and major in what I want to major in. I get to be a free person and that is something beautiful.
So I have decided to embrace President Obama and support him. He may be the best thing that has ever happened to our country, think of it that way.

On a lighter note, I only have 3 weeks left of school. It's crazy to think that I am already done with the semester and that my 20th birthday is tomorrow. We celebrated last night while I was home in Fairhope because Mom is going to be in Wisconsin for work the rest of the week. So I have been thinking about what is going to be happening in the future....20 years fly by and before you know it I will be nearing 40!!! I would rather not think of that.

But I want to write down what I really have a desire to do in the coming years.

1. graduate from South Alabama with a degree in Public Relations.....hopefully in 2 years from May!!!!

2. Move away from Mobile, hopefully to a large city.....I want to explore a big city and be part of it, that just seems so exciting to me.

3. land a job in the fashion industry. Something that I hope one day I will be able to achieve. I would settle fro being a PR person for a major sports team as well.

4. Later on in life, marry a man that will love me for me and serve the Lord.

I just want to enjoy my 20's, enjoy the moment that they fly by and that before you know it they will be over. It's hard to imagine growing up and it's hard to see myself not being a student but being a career woman....exciting but scary. I'm not sure what the Lord has in store for me, but I am willing to wait and find out.
